"The TT buying rate on the Rule 115 specified date (Rule 206 under the new Income-tax Act, 2025) — not the day you were paid, and never a Google rate — is the figure that goes into your return." — CA Juber Attar, TaxFetch e-CA Tax Expert
Revised card: SBI reissued its rate card later on 30 October 2026; the figures below reflect the latest card of the day.
Today's downward movement in the dollar rate means that foreign income converted on 30 October 2026 will yield fewer rupees per unit than it would have yesterday. For taxpayers reporting foreign earnings in their income-tax return, Rule 115 (carried forward as Rule 206 under the Income-tax Act, 2025 from financial year 2026-27 onwards) permits conversion at the SBI TT buying rate prevailing on a specified date such as the receipt date or the last day of the month. Most major currencies including the euro, yen, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Singapore dollar, dirham and riyal also eased against the rupee, while the pound rose to 125.81 from 125.50.

What is SBI’s TT buying rate for USD today?
SBI's TT buying rate for the US dollar on 30 October 2026 is 94.35 rupees per unit.
Why does my ITR need the SBI TT buying rate and not a Google rate?
Rule 115 (and corresponding Rule 26, carried forward as Rule 206 and Rule 207 under the Income-tax Act, 2025 from FY 2026-27) of the income-tax rules specifically prescribe SBI's telegraphic transfer buying rate for converting foreign currency receipts into rupees for tax purposes. Rates shown by search engines or other commercial platforms are not recognised by the Income-tax Department for ITR reporting.
Which date’s rate should I actually use?
Rule 115 fixes a specified date per income type — and the same specified dates carry forward as Rule 206 of the Income-tax Rules, 2026 under the Income-tax Act, 2025 (income of FY 2026-27 onward). In short: FY 2025-26 and earlier returns cite Rule 115; FY 2026-27 onward cite Rule 206 — the rate itself is SBI’s TT buying rate either way. Per income type — for foreign salary and RSU/ESOP perquisites it is the last day of the month before the month the income fell due; for capital gains, the last day of the month before the month of transfer; Schedule FA closing balances take the 31 December rate.
