What an AIS can and cannot prove

It can show
  • What banks, employers, registrars and exchanges reported against your PAN
  • TDS, TCS and advance or self-assessment tax credited to you
  • High-value transactions reported under SFT
It cannot show
  • Your final taxable income: reporting is not assessment
  • Final capital gains when acquisition costs are missing
  • That a purchase, deposit or sale value is income

Password Required

The file is protected. Use the opening password on the PDF.

Tip: the AIS/TIS password is usually your PAN in lowercase followed by your date of birth as DDMMYYYY. Example: PAN abcde1234f and DOB 01012010 gives abcde1234f01012010.
